We have listed three different fixes below, the first two are shared by Amazon but didn’t work out for me, whereas the third fix managed to spell out success. You are free to try each of them and then check which one works out in your favor.

FIX 1: Reinstall Amazon Photos

Starting off with the first generic fix, Amazon recommends you uninstall the currently installed app and then reinstall its fresh version from scratch. This will recreate its data and populate its fresh instance from scratch, which in turn might rectify this issue. So refer to the below steps to give this fix a try:

  1. Head over to Settings > Apps > select Amazon Photos.
  2. Then tap Uninstall > OK in the confirmation prompt.amazon photos not working
  3. Now install it from App Store [iOS] / Play Store [Android].
  4. Launch it and check if Amazon Photos is working now or not.

FIX 2: Manually Upload Photos

The next fix recommended by Amazon advises you to manually upload the photos over to the cloud instead of being dependent on the automated process, at least for the time being. Here’s how it could be done:

  1. Launch the Amazon Photos app and tap on the smiley icon present at the top left.
  2. Then tap on the settings icon present at the top right and select Upload photos manually.
  3. Now select the desired photos and videos and hit Upload in the top-right corner.
  4. Check if it fixes the issue of Amazon Photos not working.

FIX 3: Downgrade Photos App

Since the issue first came to light after Amazon rolled out the latest update to its app, there’s every chance that the culprit might be this latest update itself. So to rectify ir, you will have to downgrade the app to its earlier stable build. Here’s how it could be done:

  1. Head over to Settings > Apps > select Amazon Photos.
  2. Then tap Uninstall > OK in the confirmation prompt.amazon photos not working
  3. Now download and install its older version from here.
  4. After that, go to Play Store and search Amazon Photos.
  5. Then tap on the overflow icon situated at the top right.
  6. Now, uncheck Enable Auto Update and test out the app.

That’s it. These were the three different methods that shall help you fix the issue of Amazon Photos not working. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are aware of this issue, but they haven’t given out any ETA for the rollout of a fix.
