In this video, we will show you the steps to add a separate WiFi toggle icon in the Control Center on your iPhone running iOS 18. The latest iteration of the OS build has brought a slew of noteworthy features to the fore and UI tweaks to the fore. Some of the noteworthy ones include the ability to customize the colors of the app icons, a revamped Photos app, change lock screen options, and customize Control Center.
While the rest of the changes have either received positive feedback or mixed reactions, it’s the latter one that has been flooded with negative reception. And rightly so. First and foremost is the non-editable connectivity box which houses all the connectivity features under one roof. While that sounds quite useful, however, its implementation is anything but just that.
After all, who in their right mind would put the AirDrop option as a permanent one instead of Cellular Data or Bluetooth, both of which now require an additional tap to access it [though you can add them as separate tiles as well, more on that later]. As if that wasn’t enough, the worst of all changes is the lack of a standalone WiFi toggle.
So Apple decided to add Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Personal Hotspot, and Airplane Mode, but for some reason didn’t find it logical enough to have the most used feature aka Wi-Fi. While this isn’t something that came as a shocker because we have seen such non-sensical moves from Apple in the past as well, however, it doesn’t take away the level of infuriation that we have to deal with.
So let’s put an end to this misery, shall we? In this guide, we will show you a nifty method using which you can add a separate WiFi toggle icon in the Control Center on your iPhone running iOS 18. Without further ado, let’s check it out.

How to Add a Separate WiFi Toggle Icon in Control Center on iOS 18
We will be using the Shortcuts app to carry out this task. In this regard, you can take two different approaches- either manually create the shortcut from scratch and install it or simply import the one that we have already created. As far as the benefits are concerned, well, it goes along the obvious line that the latter is the shorter and easier of the two. However, if you prefer to get the job done by yourself, then the first method is just tailor-made for you.
Manual Method
- Launch the Shortcuts app and tap on the plus icon at the top right.
- Then search the Set WiFi action and select the same from the result.
- Now tap on Turn and select Toggle.
- Then tap on the drop-down next to Set WiFi and select Rename. Name it Wi-Fi.
- Again tap on the drop-down next to Set WiFi and this time select Choose Icon.
- Search WiFi and select its icon from the results. Once done, hit the Done button.
- Now bring up the Control Center, tap on the plus icon, and choose Add a Control.
- Select Shortcuts > Choose > Select the WiFi shortcut that we have created. It will now be added.
- You may also increase or decrease its size by dragging its corners.
